Brother Wayne Rice

May 16, 1949 — November 10, 2025

Bro. Wayne Rice, 76, a beloved Pastor in Williamstown, KY, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Monday November 10, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood. Born on May 16, 1949 in Covington, KY, he was the son of the late Chester Arthur and Martha McIntosh Rice.

On June 27, 1969 at Sherman Church of Christ, he was united in marriage to the former, Connie Rae Pennington; she proved to be a faithful helpmate in ministry for 57 years. Brother Rice dedicated his life to serving others and exemplified a profound love for the Lord that touched the hearts and lives of many. As the Pastor of Fairview Christian Church for 24 years, he was well-known for his wholesome spirit, sense of humor and loveable nature, which caused him to be endeared by his entire church and community. His passion for learning scripture and the truths of God’s Word led him to Cincinnati Christian College where he earned two Master’s Degrees, one in Theology, another in Psychology. He later earned a Master’s Degree from Northern Kentucky University (NKU) in Special Education; he furthermore earned a Rank I in Special Education. Because of his passion for teaching God's Word, he developed a sincere spiritual commitment that was reflected throughout his entire ministry. Among his proudest accomplishments were his journey into the pastoral ministry and the strong, loving family he, along with his wife and partner in ministry, built and nurtured throughout their lives.

He will furthermore be remembered by hundreds of young children in various churches and family functions as “Santa Clause”. At an early age his mother taught him the art of Quilt making; over the years, he made and sold many of his own handmade quilts. He also developed a great appreciation for woodworking and woodturning, which brought him much satisfaction and fulfillment.

He leaves to carry on his legacy, his wife, Connie Rae Rice of Williamstown, KY; one son, Kevin Wayne (Deanna) Rice of Williamstown, KY; one daughter: Cristal Noel Blank of Dry Ridge, KY; one brother, Dwight Lee (Kathy) Rice and one sister and Judith (Ray) Brown, both of DeMossville, KY. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Jeremiah (Alyssa) Rice, Hannah (Daniel) Senecal-Moseley, Gabriel (Jenelle) Blank, Dalaney Rice, Journey Rice and three great-grandchildren: Alric Senecal-Moseley, Emery Senecal-Moseley and Noah Rice, all of whom lovingly called him “Granddad”.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Fairview Christian Church from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday morning, November 15th, at 10:00 a.m. and continue until the time of the funeral at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be Bro.
