Burt Delmer "Bud" Dykes

Burt Delmer “Bud” Dykes of the Monterey Community of Owen County, KY was born November 28, 1944, in Perry County, KY and died Thursday, September 18, 2025, in Edgewood, KY at the age of 80 years.

He was the son of the late David Nathan and Pearly Combs Dykes. He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era where he served an aviation unit as a crew chief and helicopter mechanic, and he was a retired truck driver. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three sisters, Phyllis Bickel, Mary Wells, and Cecilia Dykes, and a brother, Michael Dykes.

Surviving is four daughters, Deanna Schraer of Elsmere, KY, Debbie Edwards of Lawrenceburg, IN, Donna Sizemore of Guilford, IN, and Denise Kinman of Dry Ridge, KY; a son, Bert Michael Dykes of Guilford, IN; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mildred “Tency” Noble of Alexandria, KY.

A “Celebration of Life” will be held 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Saturday, September 27, 2025 at the Williamstown American Legion Hall located at 1106 N. Main St., Williamstown, Kentucky 41097.
