Charles W. Benton

Charles W. Benton of Union, KY was born February 3, 1949, in Hazard, KY and died Thursday, November 6, 2025, in Union, KY at the age of 79 years.

He was the son of the late Dorsey Bryant and Tora Craft Benton. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a retired welder. C. W. was a Christian and Deacon of the Redeemed Baptist Church in Caney, KY. He was united in marriage to the love of his life for 57 years to Connie C. Benton. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother-in-law, and uncle, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

C.W. is survived by his wife, Connie C. Benton; one son, Scott Benton (Christy); Grandchildren, Caitlyn Benton Turner (Jakob), Zachary Benton, and McKenna Benton Bechtel (Chuck); sister-in-law, Gail Stephenson (John), Sherry Thomas (Morgan), and Ava Centers, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his siblings, Virvin Benton, Vestie Gullett, Glenn Benton, Geraldine Benton, Norma Sowder (George), Mary Stamper, Chester Benton, and Alma Faye Benton, and one brother-in-law, Roger Centers.

Funeral services will be at 2:00pm Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home, Verona, KY with burial to follow in the New Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will also be Thursday 12:00-2:00pm at the funeral home.
