Charles “Buster” Keith Phillips, 80, passed away on Thursday January 1, 2026 at Grant Healthcare & Rehab Center in Williamstown, KY. Born on April 29, 1945 in Louisville, KY; he was the son of the late Charles Lloyd and Amy Evelyn Keith Phillips.
On May 27, 2003 he was united in marriage to the former Judith Edwina Gable; she preceded him in death on February 4, 2021. He was a graduate of Henry County High School in New Castle, KY. Upon graduation, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force; he served in Japan during the Vietnam Era. Much of his career as a civilian was spent in construction work, specifically working with concrete. In later years, he served as a guard at the Kentucky State Reformatory in LaGrange, KY. Being musically talented, he loved singing and was gifted in being able to play various musical instruments. He was a member of Williamstown Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Judith Liane Brown of Russellville, KY; one son, Richard (Shelly) Perry Phillips of Russellville, KY, along with three grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by all his siblings: Mary Evelyn Cook, Joseph Lloyd Phillips, Henry Donald Phillips and Robert Eugene Phillips.
Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday January 6, 2026 at 2 p.m. at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery – North (KVC-N) located at 205 Eibeck Lane Williamstown, KY 41097 with Pastor Sam Newman officiating.
