Charles Fred Flege

Charles Fred Flege of Dry Ridge, KY born January 26, 1933 in the Heekin community, Williamstown, KY and died Monday, July 27, 2026 in Florence, KY at the age of 93.  

Charles was the son of the late John Blain and Frances See Flege. He was a 1951 graduate of Williamstown High School and a 1959 graduate of the University of Kentucky. He was a retired district manager for Associates Commercial Corporation, a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of the Korean War Era and a member of the Grace Episcopal Church. Charles was united in marriage to Betty Sue Brewer Flege on August 31, 1957.

Charles was an avid golfer, loved to play and watch. He and Betty Sue played Bridge in a league for many years. He loved to cook and entertain. His love of cooking was found as a cook in the Coast Guard. Charles could be found on the weekends farming and gardening on the farm.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by brothers, Dr. John Flege and Robert David Flege, and sisters, Helen Ruth Threlkeld and Mary Frances Selhorst.

Surviving is his wife Betty Sue Brewer Flege of Dry Ridge; two daughters, Kecia Blain (Almont) Dawson of Prospect, KY and Angela Louise (Craig) Bertelsen of Union, KY; two granddaughters, Alexis “Lexie” (Ben) Ahmetagic and Eleana “Lanie” (Jake) Sauder; and one sister, Joyce Harden of Lexington, KY.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 1, 2026, 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Elliston Stanley Funeral Home – Williamstown and Funeral services to follow at 1:00 PM.
