Clara Faye Thomas Marksberry was born August 22, 1936 in Dry Ridge, Kentucky and passed away November 14, 2025 in Williamstown, Kentucky at the age of 89. She was the daughter of the late Joe and Rena Neal Thomas.
Faye, as she was best known, was a retired bookkeeper for Marksberry Roofing. She worked closely along side her husband at home on the farm as well. She was an excellent cook, a talented seamstress and was very crafty. Faye was a long time member of the Grant County Homemakers where she took great pride in serving in many roles, including President and Secretary and other offices, at the local and state levels.
On October 2, 1954 Faye was united in marriage to the love of her life, Marvin Ray Marksberry, who preceded her in death. She is survived by two daughters: Pamela Marksberry Bowling of Corinth and Bonnie Kelley (Ken) of Georgetown; her sister Sue Hegyvary of Mercer Island, WA; three grandchildren: Candi Gaines, Rusty (Jessica) Smith and Nicole Smith; 8 great grandchildren: Marcus, Sawyer, Briana, Jonathon, Alexa, Aiden, Shannon and Kinsey; a great great grandchild: Millie Rae; and a special friend Amanda St. Clair.
In addition to her parents and husband, Faye was preceded in death by two grandchildren: Heather Robinson and Lisa Robinson Cason; five brothers: Cecil, James, Raymond, Calvin and Melvin; and two sisters: Florence and Marie.
Visitation will be 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM, Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown, KY. Faye will be laid to rest with her husband in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, North in Williamstown.
