Darlene Mae Lindsay, age 70, of Union, Kentucky, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 21, 2026, passing peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born on October 20, 1955, in Dry Ridge, Kentucky, to John Henry and Lucy Pennington, Darlene lived a life defined by deep faith, gentle grace, and endless love for her family. She accepted Christ as a young woman and spent her entire life walking in His light, serving her church, and loving her neighbors as herself.
Darlene was the faithful wife of 44 years to Harvey Dean Lindsay, and a devoted, nurturing mother to her daughter, Rebekah Holland. To her grandchildren, Erica and Anthony Holland, she was "Mamaw" a constant source of warm hugs, baked brownies, and whispered prayers. She was a dedicated worker, treasured her special friendship with her employer, and spent many happy years working for her dear friend, Douglas Freedle.
She lived out Proverbs 31:28 daily: "Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her."
Darlene is survived by her beloved husband, Harvey Lindsay, daughter, Rebekah (Jon) Holland; her two cherished grandchildren; her brother, Ricky (Cherie) Pennington, her two sisters: Jo (Doyle) Cain and Debbie (Dean) Colson. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Joyce (Bill) Ware, and two brothers: Ellis (Sue) and Donald (Terri) Pennington.
Visitation will be held Thursday morning, August 27th from 9am-10am at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown, KY. A celebration of Darlene’s life and homecoming will begin at 10am, with burial immediately after at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North.
