Darlene True

Vivian Darlene True, 74, of Corinth, KY, passed away on Saturday October 4, 2025. Born on February 25, 1951 in Connersville, IN, she was the daughter of the late Henry F. and Vivian M. Creekmore Clayton and was lovingly raised by her maternal grandparents, Art and Betty Sensel.

On June 18, 1986 she was united in marriage to Johnny W. True; he preceded her in death on January 30th of this year. Darlene will forever be remembered by everyone as “our angel” and the “rock” everyone leaned on. She kept her home open for all friends and family. Nothing was more important to Darlene than her love for her children.

Darlene was a gifted decorator, and loved making crafts as a family. She also loved going antiquing, shopping, seeing movies and gathering the family around her and enjoying a night of playing cards. She always looked forward to vacations with all her family. In every way, she expressed her love through the giving of herself, such as cooking special birthday dinners and Christmas meals; everyone will miss her delicious fudge that she made every Christmas in its own special tin. She was a long-time member of Canby Tabernacle Church, but in recent years, she had attended New Columbus Methodist.

Those left to carry on her legacy include four daughters: Tammy (Rob) Gosney of Butler, KY, Tara (Chad) Wright of Corinth, KY, Jodie (Mike Rice) Hall of Georgetown, KY, Melissa (Ricky Wells) True of Cincinnati, OH; one son, Larry J. Gallagher of Sadieville, KY; one grandson, Jaylen Gallagher; one brother, Ronnie (Stephanie) Clayton of Hebron, KY; three sisters: Susan (Jim) Green of Burlington, KY, Conna (Tom) Rauen of Rising Sun, IN, and Michelle (Speedy) Mosely of Florence, KY. In addition to her husband, Johnny True, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Henry Clayton, David Clayton, and two sisters Denise Allee and Rene Ackerman.

Friends and family may gather to pay their respects on Friday October 10, 2025 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at McDaniel Funeral Home in Corinth. Visitation will resume Saturday morning at 10:00 and continue until the time of the funeral at 11:00; Rodney Collins will officiate. Interment will follow in True Family Cemetery located on Pleasant Grove Road in Corinth.

Serving as Pallbearers will be: Larry Jay Gallagher, Jaylen Gallagher, Rob Gosney, Chad Wright, Mike Rice, Ricky Wells, Ronnie Clayton and Jim Clayton.

Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be: Jim Green, Troy Green, Travis Clayton, Tom Rauen, Speedy Mosley and Johnie Cunningham.

Memorial contributions may be made in Darlene’s memory to: New Columbus Methodist Church.
