David Mitchel Messex

David Mitchel Messex, 58, of Williamstown, KY, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2026, after a brief illness at St. Elizabeth Medical Center - Edgewood. Born on August 12, 1968, in Hayward, CA, he was the son of the late Carey and Wilma Messer.

David was a self-employed Contractor; he spent much of his life in construction, and in later years he enjoyed being a handyman. As a skilled and talented builder, he had an uncanny ability to meticulously construct, build and repair anything he desired. Being an avid outdoorsmen, he loved nature and hunting, especially deer and bears.

Survivors include one son, Kevin (Sarah) Messer of Colesville, CA; one daughter, Kayla (Timmy) Phillips of Williamstown, KY, along with four grandchildren: Wyatt Messex, Everly Messex, Keirra Phillips and Karolynn Phillips, all of whom lovingly called him, “Grampy”.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 19, 2026 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Stanley Funeral Homes (Williamstown). Funeral services will begin at 11:00; burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery.
