Deb Baxter, 64, of Dry Ridge, KY, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 14, 2026, surrounded by her family and loved ones.
Deb was born on 3-13-1962 in Covington, KY, to the late Bob Lohr and Eva Perry. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sibling, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Throughout her life, Deb was known for her amazing home cooking, compassion, and love for others. She enjoyed hobbies, crafts, gardening and outdoor projects. She loved hosting cookouts and spending time with family. She was a person who always put others before herself; a person who would leave the front porch light on no matter the hour, waiting to see you. She will always be remembered for her warm heart and kind smile, an angel whose wings we couldn't see. She loved roses, flowers and hummingbirds
Deb is survived by her husband of 40 years, Alan Baxter ; her children: Joe (Jessica) Lohr of Independence, KY, Mike (Heather Noel) Shields of Dry Ridge, KY, Erica (Richard Smith) Shields of Adairville, GA; her precious grandchildren: Jeremy Diebold and Jalyn Lohr of Independence, KY, Russel. Kamryn, Aubrey and Lydia Noel of Dry Ridge, KY; Cory and Jaxson Shields of Adairville, GA; beloved great-grandchildren: Nathan Robinson and Noah Kaiser of Independence, KY. She also leaves behind her siblings: Donna Thomas of Ohio, Brenda Butler of Flat Lick, KY, Robin Lohr of Erlanger, KY, Robert Lohr of New Mexico, Linda McClain of Morehead, KY, Teena Deming of Independence, KY, Jenny Lohr of Ohio, Jennifer Lohr of Williamstown, KY and Crystal Sanders of Tennessee. Other close friends include: Donnie and Tomidawn Pollitt of Piner, KY, Michael and Teresa Alexander of Big Bone, KY, Parn Ross, Amy Meleese, Stephanie Worley of Covington, KY and former Pastor Gene Hill of Macedonia Baptist Church in Jonesville.
She was preceded in death by grandfather, Homer and grandmother Margaret Hutchins of Independence, KY; brother, Kevin Lohr; and sister, Lori Lorraine of Independence, KY
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of LIfe on a later date/time and location submitted privately to friends, family, etc.
Deb leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, faith, family and friendship. She will be remembered always and forever cherished by those whose lives she touched.
