Elaine Rae Caniff

Elaine Rae Caniff, 87, of Dry Ridge, KY, died peacefully on Thursday April 9, 2026 at her home under hospice care. Born on November 28, 1938 in Grand Rapid, MI, she was the daughter of the late Lyle and Lita Radcliff.

She was united in marriage to Robert Caniff, Jr., he preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death is a sister, Bonnie Geiling and her niece, Suzi Vandermolen. She is survived by her brother, Dale (Deloris) Radcliff; her son: Tim G. (Lori) Caniff of McBain, MI; Jodie Simpson, mother of grandsons: Mitchell Caniff and Ian Caniff; her son, Mark T. (Julie) Caniff; Brenda Travan, mother of grandson, Powell Caniff. She has several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Elaine had a long standing career as Associate Chief Clerk for CSX Railroad – Wyoming Yard. She retired in November 2000 and moved to Dry Ridge, KY in 2010. She was a member of Williamstown Baptist Church where she made many friends, including her friend, Marti Reed, to whom her family will be eternally grateful. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, quilting, cooking and her dog, Pepper.

Elaine requested to have a memorial service and burial in Michigan, where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Robert and her parents.
