Elmer Howard "Red" Fair, of Owenton, Kentucky, passed away on August 11, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on February 11, 1941, in Liberty, Kentucky, Red was the son of late Elmer Fair and Fannie Marie Hair Fair.
A lifelong horseman, Red carried on the proud family tradition of working with carriage horses and Belgian horses and farming. His deep connection to the land and animals reflected the values he held close—hard work, loyalty, and quiet strength. A jokester at heart, he also loved making people laugh.
Red is survived by his brother, Ray Fair; three grandsons, Brian Lawson, Justin Lawson, and Christopher Lawson; and one granddaughter, Danielle Jump, all whom he loved dearly.
He will be remembered not only for his dedication to the horse business, but also for the care he showed to his family and the legacy he leaves behind in the fields and barns of Kentucky.
Any services will be at the convenience of the family.
