×Elwood "Junior" McComas, Jr., a beloved lifelong farmer and dedicated small engine mechanic, passed away on June 7, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, KY. Born on December 10, 1958, in Owenton, Junior was known for his unwavering work ethic and commitment to his family and community.
As the owner and operator of McComas and Son's Small Engine Repair, he showcased his mechanical expertise and passion for helping others, earning the respect of colleagues and clients alike. His love for Ford tractors was a hallmark of his life, reflecting not only his agricultural background but also his deep connection to the land he cherished.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Junior held a strong faith that guided him throughout his life. Junior was a 1995 graduate of Liberty Bible Institute under Dr. Jerry Falwell and Dr. Harold Wilmington. He was known for his dedication to studying the Bible, engaging in spiritual growth that enriched both his life and the lives of those around him.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah "Debbie" Taylor McComas, and his four sons: Josiah "Andy" (Salina) McComas, Jeremiah McComas, Joshua McComas, and Jacob McComas. Junior also leaves behind his brother, Tony (Jan) Hensley, twelve cherished grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, all of whom will remember him for his love and wisdom.
Junior joins in eternal rest with his mother, Ella Margaret "Margie" Adams McComas; father, Elwood McComas, Sr.; and his two sisters, Verna Lee Mink and Lana Hensley Johnson. His legacy of hard work, faith, and family devotion will endure in the hearts of all who knew him.
A graveside service will be conducted at the convenience of the family and he will be laid to rest in the Bethany Cemetery, Holbrook, KY. Bro. Josiah McComas and Pastor Sam Newman will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
