Eva Lois Hopper, a cherished member of the community and a retired librarian known for her dedication to knowledge and history, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Grant County, Kentucky. Born on July 31, 1941, in Cordova, Kentucky, Eva Lois lived a life rich with experiences that shaped not only her own journey but also the lives of those around her.

Eva Lois dedicated 28 years of her professional life to the Grant County Library, where she inspired countless individuals with her passion for reading and learning. Her love for literature was matched only by her enthusiasm for genealogy and local history, making her a beloved figure at the library and in the wider community. Many will remember her as a former tour guide at the Wm. Arnold Log Cabin, where her storytelling brought history to life for many visitors.

A faithful member of the Mt. Pleasant Church of Christ, Eva's generosity and kindness extended beyond her professional endeavors. She was actively involved in the Grant County Historical Society, contributing her time and knowledge to preserve the rich heritage of the area. Her spiritual faith and commitment to her community left a lasting impact that will be felt for years to come.

In addition to her contributions to the library and her church, Eva Lois enjoyed a variety of hobbies that included watching birds, traveling to historical sites, and spending time on the family farm where she grow up. Growing tobacco and raising cattle taught her valuable lessons about hard work and perseverance, qualities that she carried throughout her life.
