Gary Robert Story

Gary Robert Story was born March 26, 1950 in Cincinnati, Ohio and passed away February 23, 2026 at his residence in Verona, Kentucky at the age of 75.  

On July 12, 1973 Gary was united in marriage to Brenda Joan Pelcher Story who preceded him in death in 2017.  Gary is survived by two sons: Randy (Tammy) Naegele of Verona and Mike (Tammy) Naegele of Independence; a daughter: Jan Banford of Cincinnati; a sister: Peggy (John) Jarboea of California; three grandchildren: Brittney, Misty and Amber; and several great grandchildren.

Gary was known as a very good mechanic who could fix anything from bumper to bumper.  He was former owner of Affordable Transmissions on Dixie Highway in Northern Kentucky and even built and raced his own dragster, "Plain Nasty".  As he got older Gary decided to pursue a degree in IT from Cincinnati State University in Cincinnati.  Upon completion of his degree he began working as an intern and ultimately became a full time employee and retired as an IT Technician at Cincinnati State.  When he wasn't working Gary could be found "piddling" with woodworking, something he took great pride in and became very talented at.

Visitation will be 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM, Monday, March 2, 2026 at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home, 14635 Walton-Verona Rd., Verona, KY  41092.  Funeral services will be 12:00 PM, Monday, March 2, 2026 at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home.  Entombment will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
