Glenna Hester

Glenna Hester, 89, of Amelia, OH, entered her eternal home on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, from Anderson Mercy Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. Born on May 21, 1937, in Whitley City, KY, she was the daughter of the late Smith M. and Gladys (Lynch) Strunk.

Glenna retired as an assembly line worker at Diamond National Manufacturing.  Among her favorite pastimes were gardening, canning, sewing, croqueting and traveling, especially going out west, but her greatest fulfillment came from spending time with her family, whom she loved so much.  She was actively involved in the ministries of Growing Place  Church of God in Norwood.  

In addition to her parents, Glenna was preceded in death by her two husbands, Charles Glen Strunk and John (Jack) Hester, she was also preceded by a daughter, Pamela Strunk; a grandson, Brian Strunk; a great-granddaughter, Ashley and a great-great-granddaughter, Haisley and all her siblings: Wilma (Willard) Taylor, Flora Strunk, JT Strunk, Gene (Barbara) Strunk, Chester Strunk, Doris (James-Bo) Roark, Fay Barnett and Roger Strunk. She leaves to carry on her legacy two sons: Charles (Chuck) Strunk, Dewayne (Sharon) Strunk; one daughter, Sue (Jerry) South; five grandchildren: Dana Stoval, Chris (Crystal) Strunk, Sharon Nicole (Jeremiah) Johnson, Beth (Kenny) Jeffers, Rodney (Shannon) Strunk; 14 great-grandchildren: Aubrey, Cheyenne (Ryan), Dakota, Jacob (Natasha), Katelyn (Tanner), Savannha, Devin, Piper, Caine, Lillie, Mia, Donavon, Trinity, Chris Jr.; 12 great-great grandchildren: Jenson, Oaklynn, Ellie, Kolten, Jade, Charlotte, Rosie, Kalem, Paisley, Ryieghlie and Koralie and another on the way and a sister-in-law, Sue (Butz) Strunk.

Visitation will be Monday October 26, 2026 from 4:00 - 6:00 at Growing Place Church, located at 3728 Floral Avenue, Norwood, OH.  Funeral services will follow at 6:00 with Lead Pastor Mike Cornelius, Pastor Emeritus Jeremy McCleese and Worship Arts Pastor Tony Cornelius officiating.  Burial will Tuesday morning October 27th at 11:00 at New Bethel Cemetery in Verona, KY.
