Helen Clara Johnson

Mrs. Helen Clara Johnson of Linton, Indiana and formerly of Grant County passed away Tuesday, December 17 in Indiana at the age of 92.  Mrs. Johnson was born June 19, 1927 in Dry Ridge, KY. to the late Martin Luther Penick and Leona Colson Penick.  Mrs. Johnson was a retired lab technician for Formica Corporation.  She was a former member of the Dry Ridge Christian Church and the Bullittsville Christian Church.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by a son: Bert Charles "Buddy" Johnson, II, 5 sisters, Mamie Cook, Lillian Lawrence, Stella Lawrence, Naomi Lawrence, Dorothy Knight, two infant sisters; 3 brothers, William Penick, Luther Penick, and Gerald Penick.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by a son: Dennis Ray Johnson and his wife Debra of Silver Springs, MD., 2 daughters: Karen Lee Ballew and her husband Roger of Bloomfield, IN., and JoAnn Midgley and her husband J. R. of Owensboro, Ohio.  She also is survived by a brother: Robert Penick of Grant County, KY.  She has 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Clara Johnson will be conducted 11:00 am Monday, December 23 in the chapel of the Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home, 30 South Main Street, Dry Ridge, KY. 41035 with Rev. Jerry Summers officiating.  Visitation will be there on Sunday, December 22 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm.  Burial will be in the Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge, KY.
