Irvin "Geno" Eugene Hanna

Irvin Eugene Hanna, 87 of Dry Ridge, KY, passed away Saturday February 14, 2026 at his residence. Born on May 23, 1938 in Harrison County, KY, he was the son of the late Harold Raymond and Helen Mildred Noel Hanna.

On May 2, 1986 in Sarasota, FL, Irvin, known by many as “Geno” was united in marriage to the former Kathy Gail Hess; she survives. Until his retirement in 1988, Irvin worked for Western-Southern Life Insurance Company. Fishing became his favorite pastime; he also enjoyed woodworking, but spending time with his grandchildren, who lovingly called him “Poppy” brought him his greatest fulfillment. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Irvin will be fondly remembered by his wife of 40 years, Kathy Gail Hanna; one son, Raymond Gene (Rachael) Hanna of Highland Heights, KY; one sister, Mildred Hale of Sarasota, FL and his four grandchildren: Emily Grubbs, Macie Ellison, Grayson Ellison and Carter Hanna, along with multiple nieces and nephews.

The Hanna family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to Hospice of the Bluegrass for their many acts of compassion and always going the extra mile in providing for Irvin’s medical needs.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
