James “Mark” Wilson, 57, of Dry Ridge, KY, passed away on Saturday morning July 12, 2025 at his residence after a lengthy illness. Born on June 13, 1960, in Fort Thomas KY, he was the son of James A. Wilson and Carolyn Tomlinson.
On January 14, 1980, Mark entered the United Sates Air Force where he earned a Senior Airman (SRA) Rank E4 as an airplane mechanic. He retired as an AC Mechanic from the IRS. On August 8, 1986, he married the former Kimberly Ann Setser, whom he always referred to as and treated as his “Princess”; she survives.
As an outdoor enthusiast, Mark loved everything from hunting, fishing, boating and camping. He also loved his muscle cars and admiring any and all airplanes. He will long be remembered as a very smart and intellectual person who excelled in everything he engaged in, but his greatest contentment came from being “Papaw” to his 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was a Christian and was a member of the Church of God.
In addition to his wife of 39 years, Kimberly Wilson and his grandchildren and great-grandchild, he is survived by two sons: Joshua David (Savannah) Wilson of Dry Ridge, KY, Nakia James (Kristy) Wilson of Crittenden, KY; an honorary son: Brandon (Cassie) Fields; two daughters: Amberdawn “Nichole” (Christopher) Herring of Williamstown, KY, Alysia (Matt) Meece of Berry, KY; one brother: Jeff (Jeanna) Wilson of Cumberland, KY and two sisters: Candy (Curt) Hall of Warsaw, KY and Cindy (Robert) Hall of Petersburg, KY.
