James Scott Taylor

James Scott Taylor was born August 23, 1944 in Covington, Kentucky and passed away August 11, 2025 in Cincinnati, Ohio at the age of 80. He was the son of the late James William and Mary Kathryne Scott Taylor.

Jay, as he was best known, was a retired Maintenance Supervisor for GE with 34 years of service.  He also proudly served his country in the United States Army.  Jay was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Cincinnati and actively served his community through 4-H, the Junior Rifle Club and the Archery Club in Brookville, IN.  He was also affiliated with the Girl Scouts as a "Do-dad".

While Jay was very active in so many community activities he also had several hobbies he enjoyed.  He was involved in amateur radio and tinkering with electronics of all kinds.  He spent a lot of time outdoors camping, fishing and shooting rifles.  Jay was an RC airplane enthusiast as well.

Jay is survived by two daughters: Starangela Taylor (Steven Wombles) of Cincinnati and Debrena Perry (Kristian) of Payne, Ohio; a son: Howard Ehlers of Cincinnati; a brother: Don Taylor (Patti); four sisters: Elizabeth Carmack (Jim), Janice Wiedemann, Karen Engel (Don) and Lois Taylor; a sister-in-law: Patty Taylor; six grandchildren: Marcus Wyatt (Kerrigan Jones), Dutch Wyatt (Shawnee), "Liz" Denise Gentry, Chasity Sartorius (Ryan), Christopher Hamlin (Beth) and Kelly Taylor; and 10 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two wives, Shirlene Taylor and Denise E. Taylor, and a brother, Glenn Taylor (Maxine).

Visitation will be 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home, 14635 Walton-Verona Rd., Verona, KY  41092.  Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the St. Patrick's Cemetery in Verona, KY.
