John James Blythe

John James Blythe of Walton, KY was born June 22, 1942 in Columbus, OH and died Wednesday, February 25, 2026 in Florence, KY at the age of 83.

He was the son of the late John Harrison and America Crabtree Blythe. He was a former barber and retired Greyhound Terminal Dispatcher in Columbus and Cincinnati, OH. On February 3, 1962 he was united in marriage to his wife Mary Eleanor Neighborgall Blythe.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his son, Jay Dee Blythe in 2025 and daughter, Peggy Sue Loudenslager Blythe in 2009.

Surviving is his wife of 64 years, Mary Blythe of Walton; son, John Wesley (Kathi) Blythe of Carroll, OH; four grandchildren, Jacob and Josh Loudenslager, John Levi (Genna) Blythe, and Kaylee Blythe; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00pm on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at the Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home, Verona, KY. Funeral services will also be Tuesday at 2:00pm at the funeral home. Entombment will be at 1:00pm Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Columbus OH.
