Johnetta Sue Roberts

Johnetta Sue Roberts, 80, of Aubrey, TX, passed away Monday, September 8, 2025, in Aubrey. She was born June 7, 1945, in Covington, KY to William Lawrence and Nellie B. (Brown) Roberts.

Sue was raised in Walton, KY where she attended Walton-Verona School and became a devout member of the Walton Methodist Church. In 1963, she married Billy Davis and later welcomed their daughter, Pam.

Sue began her food services career in the early 1980s. She became a Sous Chef working at the Hyatt Regency in Cincinnati, OH when it opened in 1984. In 2010, she retired from St. Luke’s Hospital West in Florence, KY. From there, she moved to Texas and spent the remainder of her life with her daughter. As a woman of deep faith, she attended First Christian Church while living in Anna.

Her love for people gave her a gift for making everyone feel like a friend. One of her favorite pastimes was spending time with friends at a “camp” on Craigs Creek to boat and fish. Sue was a kind and loving mother and a special aunt to her many nieces and nephews. She was a cherished friend to many, who fondly called her Momma Sue. She was a very caring person and in her later years she was gifted with wonderful caregivers.

Sue is survived by her daughter, Pamela Davis of Aubrey, TX; brother, Dennis Roberts of Dayton, OH; “adopted” daughter, Julie Rangel of Aubrey, TX; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Nellie; two brothers, Larry Roberts and Don Wagoner; and three sisters, Cathy Roberts, Margie Densler, and Mazie Moseley.

Donations can be made to Church of the Redeemed or Alzheimer’s Association and First Christian Church-Anna.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 2:00PM at The Church of the Redeemed (formerly Walton Methodist Church) in Walton, KY with Brother Bill Conatser officiating. Interment will follow at Glencoe Cemetery in Glencoe, KY. 

Pall bearers will be Randall Ethridge, Eddie King, Brad Rahe, Hargis Davis, Mason McFarland and Jacob Rahe.
