Joyce Oneida Pelfrey Faulkner, born July 6, 1930 in Middletown, OH, lived a long and blessed life surrounded by faith, family, and love. While surrounded by family, she passed from this earth on September 20th, 2026 in Williamstown, KY, and was welcomed into the arms of our Heavenly Father. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Sadie Mae Neal Pelfrey.

On December 21, 1946, she was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Emery Ellis Faulkner, who preceded her in death. From this joyous union came five cherished children, who all survive: Marvin (Karen), Larry (Joyce), and Irvin (Peggy) Faulkner, all of Williamstown, and Anita (Brad) Gerretson and Markeeta Crupper, both of Williamstown. She is the proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her endless joy. She is survived by her brother Randy (Shirley) Pelfrey of Crittenden, KY, and sisters Judy (Jim) Wiggington of Williamstown, KY, and Joan (David) Simpson of Independence, KY, along with many other beloved family members and dear friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Truman, Wallace, Harold, Terry, and Garry Pelfrey, and 2 infant sisters, Frieda and Lillian.

A devoted follower of Christ and longtime member of Mason Baptist Church, Joyce’s faith guided her life and shone through her loving, gentle spirit. She had a heart for serving others — from her years working in the Mason Elementary School cafeteria to her time at Boston Gear — but her greatest and most important work was done at home, where she poured love into every meal, hug, and “sugar” she gave.

Her superb cooking was famous among family and friends. Many will fondly remember her legendary fried apple pies, hearty soups and stews during hunting season, and the joy of gathering in her warm kitchen during holidays, where no one ever left hungry or felt unloved. Her home was a place of laughter, nourishment, and affection — where hugs were plentiful and hearts were full.

Joyce’s love of cooking, sewing, and crocheting was matched only by her devotion to her family. She helped raise her siblings, cherished every child who crossed her path, and made everyone feel like part of her family. Her warm smile, kind words, and sweet embrace will be deeply missed, but her love and legacy will live on in the many lives she touched — and in the recipes and memories she shared so freely.

Visitation will be 4:00-8:00pm Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown, KY. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am Thursday, September 24, 2026 at the funeral home, with burial to follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North.
