Joyce Vanlandingham

Joyce Boyett Vanlandingham was born June 19, 1928 in Mississippi and passed away November 1, 2025 in Lexington, Kentucky at the age of 97.  She was the daughter of the late Paul Burnley and Maud Phillips Boyett.

Joyce was united in marriage to the love of her life, Kenneth Earl Vanlandingham, who preceded her in death in 1995.  She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Ellen Cole, and her husband Joe, of Richmond and a grandson, Jeremy Benjamin Cole, and his wife, Latoya, of New York City.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Nina Ruth Vanlandingham, and a brother, Oscar Perry Boyett.

Joyce attended Mississippi University for Women where she graduated with a Masters degree in Social Studies and a minor in French. She then went on to work as an English teacher and a librarian before settling in as a homemaker.  She was involved in homemakers clubs throughout the years and she loved gardening and playing bridge.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
