JP George Wagers

JP George Wagers, a Corinth resident, passed away on August 26, 2026 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood, KY at the age of 74.  He was the husband of Deborah Raby Wagers.

JP was born on June 11, 1952 to the late Walter Wagers and Clostia Taylor Wagers.  He was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church and a retired truck driver.  He loved to fish, mow his yard, work on mowers, host family fish fry's and was known as a jokester that loved to make people laugh.  He loved his family and spending time with his step children.

JP is survived by his wife Deborah, one son JP Wagers, Jr; one daughter, Lisa Wagers; four step sons, Howard (Cynthia) Dalton, Willis (Angel) Dalton, Daniel (Amy) Dalton, Jim Bob (Susan) Dalton; one stepdaughter, Paula Jo Raby; one brother, Green (Mary) Wagers; three sisters, Laura Jackson, Elaine Purnell, Patricia (Danny) Oakley; one special nephew and several nieces, nephews and grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Wagers and four sisters, Theresa Wagers, Judy Purnell, Alma Gray and Christine Hart.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 1, 2026 from 11am-1pm at the Corinth Baptist Church.  Funeral services will be held at 1pm at the church.  Rev. Jim Sears will be officiating services.  Burial will follow at the Oak Ridge Cemetery, Williamstown, KY.  Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home of Williamstown is handling arrangements.
