Kenneth Ray Moore, 89, of Burlington, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at home on September 12, 2026. He was born on July 26, 1937, in Alphoretta, Kentucky, to the late Cyrus Preston and Nellie Elizabeth Perry Moore.
Kenneth grew up in Dinwood (Floyd County) and later in Latonia, Kentucky. He cherished memories of his childhood and loved sharing stories of those early years with his parents, four brothers, and three sisters. He graduated from Holmes High School in 1956 and proudly served his country in the United States Navy.
Kenneth worked for 30 years as a pipefitter for Ford Motor Company before retiring in 2005. A dedicated and hardworking man, he took great pride in providing for his family and doing his job well. He was known for his honesty, strong work ethic, and willingness to lend a helping hand.
Sports were a lifelong passion for Kenneth. In his younger years, he played fast-pitch softball for Nick’s Grove. He was a devoted Kentucky Wildcats fan and enjoyed watching college and professional sports of all kinds. Golf, fishing, traveling, and spending time outdoors were also among his favorite pastimes. Kenneth also loved woodworking and enjoyed creating things for others. He generously shared his time and skills, finding genuine satisfaction in helping people and bringing joy through something he had made.
Above all, Kenneth cherished his family. He married his beloved wife, Frankie Sue Brogdon, on July 26, 1975. Together, they shared 51 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, family, and countless special moments. Kenneth was a steady source of encouragement and support for his children and grandchildren. He took great pride in their accomplishments, encouraged them in all they pursued, and was always ready with advice, a helping hand, or a little humor. His warmth and positive outlook made him someone his family could always count on.
Kenneth is survived by his beloved wife, Frankie Moore; one daughter, Deana (Kelly) Knox; two sons, Kenny (Shelly) Moore and Brian Moore; three grandchildren, Kelsey (Matt) Gilvin, Austin (Alyssa) Knox, and Greyson Moore; two great-grandchildren, Elowen Gilvin and Foster Gilvin; and one brother, G. Thomas (Susan) Moore. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Kenneth leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and steadfast devotion to the people who mattered most to him. He will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, loyal brother and friend, and, above all, a truly good man. The kindness he showed and the love he gave so freely will live on in the family and friends who were fortunate enough to know him.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of sharing life with him.
We are deeply grateful to Oncologist Dr. Mahmoud Charif and the staff at UC Hematology Oncology at Barrett Center for their dedicated and compassionate care. A special thank you is also extended to the wonderful staff at St. Elizabeth Hospice for their support for Kenneth in his final days.
