Leland Louis Kellam

July 11, 1934 — May 2, 2021

Leland Louis Kellam, 86, of Dry Ridge, KY, went to his heavenly home on May 2, 2021.  Born July 11th, 1934, he was the son of the late Horace Kellam and Lila Malissa Warden.

On August 18, 1956, Leland was united in marriage to Betty Jane Wolfe.  He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1955 and fought in the Korean War.  He was awarded the China Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal for his service.  He was a member of the UA Local 392 and employed by Imperial Refrigeration of Covington, KY until his retirement in 1994.  Upon retirement, Leland traveled on mission trips spreading God's Word to Russian, Taiwan, and Haiti where he set up water filtration systems for communities without fresh water.  He also spent many years in jail ministry serving inmates at Grant County Detention Center.  He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, reading, and working in his garden.  Leland was a committed Christian; he faithfully attended and served God at Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Williamstown where he was a Sunday School teacher and deacon.

Survivors include three sons: Steve (Karla) Kellam of Crittenden, KY; Rodney Kellam of Bradenton, FL; and Tim (Jamie) Kellam of Crittenden, KY; three brothers: Ken Warden of Ft. Thomas, KY; Henry Warden, Jr. of Burlington, KY; and Don Ehmet of Ft. Wright, KY; two sisters: Melba Mastin of Taylor Mill, KY, and Debbie Warden of Davison, MI.  Leland was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jane Wolfe Kellam, his brother, Gerald Duane Kellam, and his daughter-in-law, Trish Kellam.

Seven Grandchildren also survive: Kasi (Chris) Mitchell, Preston Kellam, Ryan Kellam, Paige Kellam, Marlena Kellam, Sarah Kellam, and Cody Kellam along with one great-grandchild, Liam Mitchell.

Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown, KY.  Funeral services will be held at Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Williamstown, KY at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 67, 2021 with Bro. Willie Ailstock and Bro. Kyle Sullivan officiating.  Burial will take place immediately following the service at the Kentucky Veteran's Cemetery, North in Williamstown, KY.
