Linda Carol Kinman

Linda Carol Kinman, 79, of Hebron, Kentucky, passed away on June 8, 2026. She was born on March 6, 1947, in Gallatin County, Kentucky, to Helen Brashear Speagle and Hobert J. Speagle. Linda often said she felt privileged to have grown up on the farm where she was born. That early life shaped her love of nature, animals, and the quiet, meaningful rhythms of country living. She was gifted with a lovely soprano voice, and in her younger years she sang in church and performed duets with her close friend Avalon, both during and after high school.  She was a longtime member of Sand Run Baptist Church in Hebron.

A lifelong learner, Linda attended Cincinnati State Technical and Community College, earning an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Respiratory Care Technology. She went on to enjoy a long and meaningful career as a Registered Respiratory Therapist at St. Elizabeth Hospital, where she cared for patients with skill, steadiness, and compassion. She retired from St. Elizabeth after many dedicated years of service. 

Linda was an avid reader of historical fiction and rarely ended a day without working a crossword puzzle. Creative and talented with her hands, she was an excellent seamstress, a devoted grower of flowers and gourds, and someone who took great joy in decorating her home. She loved to cook, loved her home, and loved the many dogs who shared her life over the years. She enjoyed horseback riding and camping, finding peace and happiness in the outdoors.

 Linda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tommy Kinman. She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Renae (Terry) Garnett; her son, Michael J. (Ann) Hicks, Michelle’s twin; and her son, Joshua Napier and her sister, Regina Speagle Sullivan.  She also leaves behind eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved deeply.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Brenda Wallace and Mary Mains.

 Linda will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her creativity, her humor, her independence, and the quiet joys she cultivated in her everyday life. At the close of her journey, the words of Kahlil Gibran offer comfort: “For life and death are one, even as the river and the sea are one.” And as Rainer Maria Rilke wrote, reminding us how to keep moving through the world: “Let everything happen to you: beauty and terror. Just keep going.”

A Celebration of Linda's life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.  Once the date and time have been determined, this website will reflect the updated information.
