Loretta Carol Odom Carmichiel was born December 7, 1948 in Arlington, Texas and passed away August 5, 2026 in Erlanger, Kentucky at the age of 77. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Jewel Dean Spindle Odom. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Carmichiel, and a sister Eva Charlene "Charley" May.
She is survived by her daughter, Tina A. Gail, of Louisville, a grandson, Cory Thomas, of Louisville, her brother-in-law, Ronald "Ronny" May, of Sunset, Texas, and a niece, Veronica Chas May, of North Richland Hills, Texas.
Loretta retired from customer service in the rental car industry at the Northern Kentucky Greater Cincinnati Airport. She had a deep love for animals, especially horses, and found great joy in horseback riding whenever she had the chance. She was a devoted fan of classic Westerns and could often be found enjoying the timeless stories and characters they brought to life. An avid Elvis Presley fan, his music held a special place in her heart and brought her countless moments of happiness throughout the years.
During her final years, she was grateful for the kindness and companionship of her former husband and Tina’s father, Jack Schultz, whose regular visits brought comfort and reflected a lifetime of shared history.
Memorial services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
