Loretta Jones Epperson

Loretta Jones Epperson , 102, died Wednesday February 12, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Hospice Care – Grant Co. Born August 18, 1917 in Owen County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Johnny & Bessie Wright Hunter.

She was a hard working lady; she worked her entire life dedicating herself to making their home a good, wholesome place. She was married to Hallie Jones; he preceded her in death in 1968. She later married Ernest Epperson; he preceded her in death in 1992. She sung in the choir and taught Sunday School for many years at New Columbus Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons: Leroy Jones, Henry Edward Jones; two daughters: Gladys (Don) Poe and Bonnie Jones all of Corinth, KY. Nine grandchildren also survive: David Jones of Berry, KY, Danny Jones of Berry, KY, Valarie Jones of North Carolina, Connie Gaunce of Berry, KY, Anthony Rose of Berry, KY, Joy Kelly of Corinth, KY, Jennifer Rader of Corinth, KY, Kristi Gillespie of Crittenden, KY and Jason Jones of Corinth, KY, along with numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. A daughter-n-law also survives, Juanita Jones. She was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Jones and all of her siblings: Jack Hunter, Garland Ray Hunter, J.B. Hunter, Mildred Bond, Lena Wickham, Dorothy Ross and Dickie Hunter.

Updated arrangements have been confirmed. Visitation will be Monday February 17, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at McDaniel Funeral Homes, Corinth, KY. The funeral service will begin at 1:OO p.m. with Revs. Brad Vincent and Bruce Heller officiating. Burial will follow in the New Columbus Cemetery.
