Mark Alan Coleman, Sr.

Mark Alan Coleman, 70, of Williamstown, KY, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Hospice Care in Edgewood after a sudden illness. Born on January 14, 1956, in Cincinnati, OH, he was the son of the late John Lawson and Shirley Pike Coleman, Sr.

On October 1, 1977, Mark was united in marriage to the former Peggy Jo Parker; she survives. He was a graduate of Lloyd Memorial High School in Erlanger; shortly after high school, he joined the United States Army. Ten years ago, he retired as a Deputy Jailer at Grant Co. Detention Center. Previously, he had worked for Dynamec Industries in Walton. Being a Civil War buff, he became an enthusiast who loved studying its’ history and often visited sites and re-enactments of the American Civil War. In later years, he enjoyed playing video games and listening to Classic Rock music, but Mark will be most remembered for being actively involved in all the sporting functions of his three children, as well as his grandchildren. 

Mark passes on his legacy to his wife of almost 49 years, Peggy Coleman of Williamstown, KY; one daughter, Amanda (Chris) Webster of Dry Ridge, KY; two sons: James Lee (Stephanie) Coleman of Alexandria, KY, Mark Alan (Ashley) Coleman, Jr. of Hebron, KY, along with his eight grandchildren: Hannah Webster, Mackenzie Coleman, Jenna Webster, Jackson Coleman, Carson Webster, Parker Coleman, Olivia Coleman, Piper Coleman and one great-grandson, Cooper Deason. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Eleanor Coleman.

 In fulfilling Mark’s wishes, there will be a Celebration of Life at a later date at the convenience of the family.
