Walton

On Monday October 19, 2026, Mary Jane Browning, 92, moved to her heavenly home from St. Elizabeth Medical Center - Florence, surrounded by her loving family. Mary Jane was a godly woman who loved the Lord; she loved her family and set a beautiful example for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that will lead them all in their lives.

Mary Jane was born in Newport, KY on December 9, 1933, to the late Trulin and Mollie Clifton Spencer. On December 22, 1952, she married Leslie Browning, Jr., and they were together for 63 years; he preceded her in death on July 9, 2016.

Mary Jane loved her Lord and Savior with all her heart; she loved reading God’s Word and living it out in her daily life. She will long be remembered for her generous, benevolent spirit, and further remembered as a humble, gentle-spirited lady with a powerful prayer life; only heaven knows what a wonderful and eternal impact her life has had on countless lives. Cooking was a favorite endeavor and writing cookbooks with her special recipes, brought her much delight and fulfillment. She was a member of Family Worship Center in Williamstown, where she was actively involved in the ladies’ ministries of “Birds of a Feather”.

Mary Jane’s legacy will be carried on by her daughter, Tracy Marie (Tony) Hopeck of Dahlonega, GA; three sons: Kenneth Raymond (Debbie) Browning of California, KY, Larry Allen (Brenda) Browning of Owen County, KY, Michael Leslie (Lisa) Browning of Dry Ridge, KY; one sister, Barbara (Edward) Kindle of Reading, OH, along with 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren (including Baby Mary Jane, who is on her way) and six great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Mary Jane was preceded in death by a son, Thomas James Browning; a daughter, Cynthia Lynn Renaker; a brother, Raymond Spencer and a sister, Judy Dawson.

Visitation will be Monday, October 26, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. at Stanley Funeral Homes (Williamstown). Funeral services will begin at 1:00 with Rev. Eric Williams officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Hill Crest Cemetery in Dry Ridge.
