Mary "Jean" Edmonson

Mary “Jean” Ware Edmonson, 91, of Covington, KY, entered her eternal home on Sunday June 22, 2025 from her residence. Born on March 3, 1934 in Mt. Sterling, KY, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Willa Mae Martin Ware.

On Oct 21, 1953 Jean was united in marriage to John LeRoy Edmonson; he preceded her in death on September 1, 2014. For many years she worked in dietary service with St. Elizabeth Hospital in Covington. Among her favorite pastimes, she loved walking, hiking, yoga, swimming, hiking, traveling but being a “Mom” and “Mamaw Jean” brought her the greatest joy and fulfillment. She was a devoted Christian that loved the Lord; when she could not be at church in person, she was always there in spirit; she would participate in worship by watching from her phone. She will most notably be remembered for never lying for anyone; truth and integrity were among her greatest characteristics. She was a faithful member of Garrard Street Church of Christ in Covington.

She leaves to celebrate her legacy, one daughter, Venessa Edmonson of Covington, KY; three sons: Carl (Karen) Edmonson of Florence, KY, Aaron (Lynda) Edmonson and Darran Edmonson, both of Covington, KY. Also surviving are nine grandchildren: Kody Mroczek, Cali Mroczek, Krysti Gregory, Jaycene Rice, Steven Kaiser, Christina Randolph, Tori York, Nick York and Heather Sumner, along with numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.  Preceding Jean in death are a daughter, Lila Yvette McDaniel; a son: Wyatt Edmonson; two grandchildren: Laura Barber, Loni Barber and two brothers: William Ware and Michael Ware.

Graveside services will be conducted Monday June 30, 2025 at 1:00 in the Gethsemane section of Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Taylor Mill with Pastor Eric Snider officiating.
