Mary Elizabeth Woodside

Mary Elizabeth Woodside, 70, Ghent , KY, passed away Saturday October 1, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Hospice Center – Edgewood.  Born Sunday August 10, 1952 in Kingsport, TN, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Cora Ella Courtney Adkins.

She was married to Robert Dewey Woodside; he survives. She was a devoted housewife and homemaker. She loved fishing, watching birds and shopping.  She was a member of the Ten Mile Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, “Bob”, she is survived by one daughter: Lisa Michelle Pope; two sons: Charles (Teresa) Lamar Watkins, Matthew Robert Lee Watkins, all of Warsaw, KY; one sister: Linda Thompson of Tampa, FL, along with four grandchildren: Dylan Pope, Elizabeth Pope, Matthew Watkins, Jr. and Jessica Watkins.  She was preceded in death by three sisters: Alice Furnish, Dorothy Barger Edith Clasby and three brothers: Willie Adkins, Douglas Adkins and Earl Adkins.

Visitation will be Wednesday October 5, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home in Verona. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 at the funeral home with Rev. Ken Richie officiating.  Burial will follow in New Bethel Cemetery in Verona.
