Melinda Sue Epperson

Melinda Sue "Suzie" Epperson of Crittenden, Kentucky passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family.  Born and raised in Crittenden, Suzie was known for her warm spirit, quick laugh, and generous heart.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Katie (Davin) Plunkett; four sons: John Spegal, Jason (Dee) Spegal, Jeremy Spegal and Daniel Epperson; seven brothers: Jim (Carol) Caldwell, Tom (Addie) Caldwell, Jerry (Lettie) Caldwell, Tony Caldwell, Greg (Cris) Caldwell, Don Caldwell and Jeffrey Caldwell; a sister, Laura (Brian) Rodgers; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.  Suzie was preceded in death by her first husband, Philip Spegal, and her second husband, Freddy, and seven siblings, Marilyn Adams, Carlene Livingood, Terry Caldwell, Eddie Caldwell, Janet Hinds, Barbara Smith and Alberta Caldwell.

An avid gardener, Suzie took great joy in tending her flowers and vegetable beds, finding peace and pride in watching things grow.  She was also a devoted reader whose love of books opened doors to countless worlds and who delighted in sharing stories and recommendations with family and friends.

Suzie's kindness, quiet strength, and love of home and family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.  

Visitation will be 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM, Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Crittenden Baptist Church, 215 Russell Dr., Crittenden, KY  41030.  Funeral services will be 12:00 PM, Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Crittenden Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in the Hill Crest Cemetery in Dry Ridge.
