Ottie Wombles

Ottie Wombles, 71 , Corinth, KY passed away Wednesday March 9, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center - Grant.  Born May 10, 1950 in Clay County, KY, he was the son of the late Bill and Mae Collins Wombles.

He was a coal miner in eastern Kentucky much of his life.  Once he and part of his family moved to Owen County, he enjoyed farming, fishing, Bluegrass Gospel and relaxing with a good cigar. He will long be remembered by all his family and friends for the many impressions he made with them.

Survivors include two brothers: C.B. (Sheila) Wombles of Georgetown, Thomas Wombles of Estill County; four sisters: Martha Webster of Corinth, Virgie Jett of Estill County, Lucy (George) Proffitt of London, Lorine Swatzer of Owen County, along with several nephews and nieces, among those are a special nephew: Billy Joe (Dana) Webster, a great-niece: Mackenzie Webster and great-nephew: B. J. Webster.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by three brothers: Clarence Wombles, Robert Junior Wombles, Murcum Junior Wombles and two sisters: Ella Lovins and Laura Box.

Visitation will be Tuesday March 15, 2022 from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m. at McDaniel Funeral Homes – Corinth.  Funeral services will begin at 1:00; burial will follow in Beechwood Cemetery in Owen Co.
