Patricia Colson Simpson

Patricia "Patsy" Colson Simpson was born February 13, 1936 in Keefer, Kentucky and passed away March 4, 2026 at her residence in Dry Ridge, Kentucky at the age of 90.  She was the daughter of the late William Perry and Anna Bell Dean Colson.

Patsy was a lifelong homemaker and worked alongside her husband on the farm.  She was a 1954 graduate of Grant County High School and even recently attended her 70th high school class reunion.  Patsy loved mowing her yard and watching UK Basketball.

While she enjoyed many hobbies and working on the farm and around the house, her greatest fulfillment came from her faith.  Her spiritual journey began when baptized at a young age in a creek at the end of Keefer Rd.  She was a member of Antioch Church of Christ in Keefer until she moved to Crittenden in 1972 and subsequently became a member of Sherman Church of Christ in 1974.  Patsy had a servant's heart and enjoyed helping her church family and community, especially through cooking and delivering meals.  Her journey even continued into her 80's; she went on 5 international and 1 domestic mission trips after her 80th birthday.

On March 19, 1954 Patsy was united in marriage to the love of her life, Billy Simpson.  They were married almost 60 years until his passing on February 26, 2014.  She is survived by two sons: Tommy (Zella) Simpson of Hebron and Scotty (Johnelle) Simpson of Dry Ridge; two daughters: Mickie (Dan) Schock of Union and Beth (Orman) Glass of Dry Ridge; eleven grandchildren: Elizabeth (Josh) Adams, Joel (Alecia) Simpson, Nathan Schock, Sarah (Dan) Gibson, Ethan (Brittany) Glass, Tucker (Hannah) Glass, Kailie (Austin) Johnson, Dawson Simpson, MaKenna Simpson, Wesly Simpson and Anderson Simpson; 18 great grandchildren with 1 more on the way; and one sister-in-law: Mendola Colson.

In additon to her husband, Patsy was preceded in death by her siblings, Wilma (Bob) Arthur, Loyal (John) Epperson, Jesse Colson, Joe Colson, Imogene (Hank) McAdams, Johnny (Wilma) Colson, Evelyn (Desmond) Cole, Harry (Maggie) Colson and Mary Elizabeth "Libby" Russell Bowman.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Sherman Church of Christ, 1055 Sherman-Mt. Zion Rd., Dry Ridge, KY  41035.  Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Sherman Church of Christ.  Burial will be in the Antioch Church of Christ Cemetery in Keefer.
