Paul Wayne Brewer, 84, of Verona, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025 at his home, surrounded by family who adored him. Born in Kentucky to Carl H. Brewer and Edna H. Brewer (Anderson), Paul exemplified a life devoted to hard work, music and the simple joys of the outdoors.
A dedicated employee of the Ford Motor Company, Paul committed 30 years of service before retiring 31 years ago. Even after retirement, his industrious spirit remained ever apparent. Whether on the dance floor or tending to his lawn, Paul approached life with enthusiasm and care. His joy for music and dancing was infectious, and he delighted countless friends and community members as a round dance caller for more than a decade, a role that combined his love of rhythm, laughter and fellowship.
Paul’s legacy is woven from threads of love, resilience and devotion. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hattie Edna Brewer and Carl Herbert Brewer; his brother, Victor Brewer; his grandson, Terry Brewer, Jr. and his great-grandson, Logan Lang. Though they are gone, their memories live on in the stories and hearts of those who remain.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years and lifetime dance partner, Shirley Ann (Sheldon) Brewer. Their relationship stands as a testament to enduring love and mutual respect. Paul’s family included three beloved children: Terry Wayne Brewer of Glencoe, Kentucky, Darlene Lang (Greg) of Mt. Orab, Ohio and Julie Hutchinson (Hillman) of Berry, Kentucky. His legacy continues through his eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren, as well as his siblings: Gary Brewer, Lois Lavon and Tammy Breeden.
Paul Wayne Brewer’s life was a melody of compassion, laughter and steadfast commitment. His gentle spirit and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew him. As the music fades and the final curtain ends, his memory will remain in the hearts of family and friends –a lasting tribute to a life well lived.
Family will receive friends on Friday July 18, 2025 at Hamilton – Stanley Funeral Home – Verona at 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 with Bro. Bob Hightchew officiating. Burial will follow in Glencoe Cemetery in Glencoe, Kentucky.
