Ricky Glen Massie, 67, passed away unexpectedly at his Verona residence on Thursday January 15, 2026. Born on March 31, 1958 in Covington, KY; he was the son of the late Raymond and Mary Eva Allphin Massie.
On June 24, 2017 Ricky was united in marriage to the former Jean Ann Haar; she survives. Having a love for farming, he made working the land and driving his tractors his livelihood; riding his horses also brought about much fulfillment. Having a love for people, one would find him conversing with many simply to get to know them better. He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Verona.
Ricky’s legacy will be carried forward through his wife, Jean Ann; his son, Tyler Wade Massie of the Elliston Community; three step-sons: Cory Haar of Dry Ridge, Tyler Haar and Dustin Haar, both of Williamstown; two step-daughters: Tiffany Martin of Dry Ridge, Kaitlyn Clevenger of Florence; two brothers: William Massie, Wilber Sutherland, both of Crittenden; two sisters: Nancy (Kenny) Ritzi and Wanda (Pat) Webster, both of Verona, along with eight step-grandchildren: Abbie Haar, Bella Haar, Alesana Martin, Melody Clevenger, Gwenny Clevenger, Bowen Haar, Vivian Haar and Elliot Haar. In addition to his parents, Ricky was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Massie.
Friends and family may gather for visitation at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Homes – Verona on Tuesday January 20, 2026 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 8:00 with Rev. George Naylor officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made in Ricky’s memory to the charity of one’s choice.
