Rita Kay Tackett

Rita K Tackett was born July 23, 1942 in Covington, Kentucky and passed away August 8, 2025 in Edgewood, Kentucky at the age of 83.  She was the daughter of the late Daniel Phillip and Rita Marie Schreck Gruen.

Rita was a retired cook for St. Charles Care Center. She enjoyed crafts of all kinds including making jewelry, flower arrangements, macramé, and crochet. She enjoyed watching game shows and American ninja warriors. She was a very simple person who is known to be very giving and caring to anyone she encountered. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family.

On May 17, 1962 Rita was united in marriage to Lloyd Ray Tackett who preceded her in death on May 11, 2023.  She is survived by two daughters: Deanna Buemi (Ted) of Florence and Tina Frysinger (Rich) of Amelia, OH; two sons: Danny Tackett of Covington and Steve Tackett of Covington; a stepson: Carlos May, Jr of Elsmere; a sister: Donna Marie Martin of Milford, Ohio; five grand children: Shelby, Kyle, Daniel, Lindsey and Stephen; and several great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 12-2 PM Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Hamilton – Stanley Funeral Home, 14635 Walton Verona Road, Verona KY 41092. Funeral services will be at 2 PM, Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Hamilton -Stanley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the New Bethel Cemetery in Verona.
