Robert "Bob" Lawrence Gribble

Robert "Bob" Lawrence Gribble, a Dry Ridge resident, passed away at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Florence, KY on Monday, January 12, 2026 at the age of 75.  He was the husband of  Esther "Darlene" Clem Gribble.

Bob was born on June 29, 1950 in Covington, KY to the late Russell and Thetus Estes Gribble.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam era. He enjoyed collecting hot wheels cars and zippo lighters.  He was a very talented auto body specialist and loved to drag race his 67 Volkswagen Bug “Herbie”.  His family loved to indulge in some of his home cooked dishes where he was known for his hot wings, homemade chili, potato soup and mac n cheese.  He was a KY Colonel and member of the VFW Fulton Post and American Legion Garvey Post.  In his free time, he loved to watch and play with his grandchildren whom he adored.  He was often found telling jokes and making his family smile.

In addition to his wife of 52 years Darlene, Bob is survived by one son, Robert (Nicole) Gribble II, one daughter, Nancy L. (Douglas) Whittamore, two brothers, Rodney (Eadena) Gribble, Russell Gribble,one sister, Melody Brumfield, eleven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Richard Gribble.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 15, 2026 from 11am-1pm at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home in Crittenden, KY.  Funeral Services will follow at 1pm.  Bro. Jason White will be officiating services. Burial will follow at the Crittenden Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Crittenden Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund.
