Rosella “Rosie” June Lohr, 100, of Verona, KY entered her eternal home on Saturday February 14, 2026 at her residence. Born on September 7, 1925 in Milton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mildred E. Berkheiser Faubion.
“Rosie” as she was affectionately known, was born when Calvin Coolidge was President. She lived through World War II, the Cold War, the building of the Berlin Wall, the Great Depression, the Korean War, Vietnam War, the Gulf War and the War of Iraq. Each of us have read about the Nobel Prize in Physics awarded to Einstein, the discovery of King Tut’s Tomb, the Spanish Civil War, the Hindenburg German Airship, Walt Disney’s Steamboat Willie and D-Day…but Rosie was ALIVE for all of it.
On August 26, 1956, she was united in marriage to Charles Cleveland Lohr, Jr.; he preceded her in death in 1983. She proved to be a faithful housewife and committed homemaker. Living a very active lifestyle, church played an important role in her life. She expressed her love for the Lord by singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School, working in the nursery and being a part of the Women’s Bible Study at Grace Brethren Church in Lanham, Maryland. Playing golf with her two sons and bowling three times a week brought her much joy and fulfillment. In later years, she enjoyed coloring in her coloring books and eating a bowl of ice cream every night.
In addition to her husband, Charles, Rosie was preceded in death by a twin brother, Russell Faubion. She leaves to celebrate her legacy, two sons: Von (Susan) Lohr of Verona, KY and Matthew (Janet) Lohr of Inwood, WV, along with 5 grandchildren: Christian (Shelby) Lohr, Madison Lohr, Rebekah (Scott) Kiefer, Billy (Sierra) Lohr, Ben (Brittany) Lohr and 10 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held in her native state of Pennsylvania at a later date, at the family's convenience.
