Roy Irvin Strong

Roy Irvin Strong, Sr., 81, Crittenden, KY, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at his residence. Born on October 20, 1944 in Newport, KY, he was the son of the late Miles Newton and Anna Elizabeth Mann Strong.

On June 4, 1965, Roy was married to the former Laura Inez Smith; she survives. He was a graduate of Walton-Verona High School. After 47 ½ years, Roy retired from G. R. Trumble Construction as a Concrete Contractor. He was actively involved in the ministries of Crittenden Baptist Church, where he served as a Trustee.

Roy leaves to carry on his legacy his wife of 61 years, Laura Strong; three sons: Roy Irvin (Mary) Strong, Jr .of Florence, KY, Gary Allen (Laysha) Strong of Hebron, KY, Randy Dale Strong of Dry Ridge, KY; two brothers: Terry (Jo) Strong of Shelbyville, KY, Bobby (Micki) Strong of Alexandria, KY; three sisters: Phyllis (Lou) Hamilton of Florida, Janet (Dave) McMillan of Florence, KY and Beverly (Roy) Clifton of Boise, ID. Eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren also played a huge part in their Papaw’s legacy.

Visitation will be Monday, September 28, 2026 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Crittenden Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 29th at 11 a.m. with Rev. Tommy Alford officiating. Burial will follow in the New Bethel Cemetery in Verona.
