Stephen Roy Cox, Sr.

Stephen Roy Cox, Sr.,71, of Corinth, KY, passed away Sunday January 11, 2026 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center – Fort Thomas. Born in Harlan, KY, he was the son of the late James and June Orliff Cox.

Stephen was a gifted and talented, hardworking individual that dedicated himself to work and family. After high school, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in the 101st Airborne, known as the "Screaming Eagles" of Fort Campbell, KY. He later attended Northern Kentucky Vocational Technical College, where he majored in word processing and programming language. Later he graduated from Southern Ohio College; following graduation, he became a Professor, where he taught Computer Science. All of his adult life was dedicated to being a Programming Analyst. Fishing and shooting pool were among his favorite pastimes, but he became a guitar enthusiast because of his love for music. Much peace and enjoyment came to him from the camaraderie of things in life. Because of his love for traveling to distant places, his favorite quote was, “It’s about the journey not the destination.”  

Stephen leaves to celebrate his legacy, his son, Stephen Roy Cox, Jr. and his wife, Cindy of Corinth, KY; one sister, Joanne Anderson and her husband of Georgia; two grandchildren: Nicholas Cox and Shade Cox, along with four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday January 17, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. at Stanley Funeral Homes – Williamstown. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 with Rev. Greg Nimmo officiating.
