Talmon Rufus Perkins, 85, of Corinth, KY, entered his heavenly home on Thursday July 24, 2025 at his residence. Born on September 1, 1939 in the Bulan Village of Hazard, (Perry County) KY, he was the son of the late William S. and Ogie Terry (Terry) Perkins.
On September 13, 1969 in Clintwood, West Virginia, he was united in marriage to the former Tracie Smith; she survives. After completing two years at Eastern Kentucky University, he proudly entered the United States Navy. His military training and skills took him to many parts of the world. He served as a Logistic Command Management Specialist in Lexington at the Army Depot. Through Wright – Patterson Air Force, he worked under the Secretary of Defense. Talmon was a family man who truly loved his family; he especially loved being a “Granddaddy” to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He attended New Columbus Baptist Church.
Talmon leaves to carry forward his legacy to his wife of 56 years, Tracie S. Perkins; his three daughters: Rachel (Mike) Schidecker of Trotwood, OH, Rebecca Perkins of Dayton, OH, Regina Hull of Dayton, OH; two sisters: Retha Hicks and Victoria (Buck) Gross, both of Lexington, KY. Also surviving are three grandsons: Chase (Riley) Perkins, Talmon (Phylicia) Schidecker, Stefan (Colynn) Schidecker; one granddaughter: Kara Hull; four great-grandsons: Braydon, Avery, Willie, Amos and one great-granddaughter: Willow. He was preceded in death by a brother: Morton Perkins.
Visitation will be Tuesday July 29, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. at McDaniel Funeral Home (Corinth). Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Brad Vincent, beginning at 2:00. Burial will follow in the New Columbus Cemetery.
