Timothy Edward Mefford, 63, of Williamstown, KY, entered his eternal home on Thursday April 30, 2026 at his residence after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on February 3, 1963 in Covington, KY, he was the son of Bro. Quince Thomas Mefford of Nicholasville, KY and the late Reva Dell Odor Mefford.
On July 15, 2006, he was united in marriage to the former Gina Kolloff; she survives. After his high school graduation, Tim pursued his Bachelor’s Degree in Education; he first attended Berea College where he played on the basketball team; he later transferred to the University of Kentucky, where he earned his Masters’ Degree. Sports played a huge part in Tim’s life; it brought him much satisfaction. For many years, Tim served as the Athletic Director at Williamstown High School where he also served as the Head Basketball Coach, along with the coaching golf; he started the Volleyball program at WHS. In later years, he served as the Varsity Boy’s Golf coach, Junior Varsity Basketball coach as well as the Volleyball coach at Simon Kenton High School. When he wasn’t coaching on some level with sports, deer hunting and bird hunting became one of his favorite pastimes. He was actively involved in the ministries of Williamstown Christian Church, where he served as a Deacon.
Those left to continue his legacy, in addition to his wife, Regina Mefford, are his father: Bro. Tom Mefford of Nicholasville, KY; one daughter: Tara (Eric) Hanson of Corinth, KY; two step-sons: Christopher Nicholas (Marie) Switzer and Zachary Chase (Allison) Switzer, both of Williamstown, KY; one brother: Kenneth Thomas (Chris) Mefford of California; two sisters: Teri Susan (John) Donahue of Columbia, SC, Sheri Linette (Colonel Donald) Bartholomew of Elizabethtown, KY, along with two grandchildren: Breklynn Mefford of Missouri and Palmer Marie Switzer of Williamstown, KY. He was preceded in death by his mother, Reva Dell Mefford and a son, Zachary Kyle Mefford.
A Celebration of Tim’s life will be held Tuesday May 5, 2026 at Williamstown Christian Church at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and go until the time of the services.
