Vernon Bowling, 83, of Williamstown, KY, passed away on October 27, 2025, at his home surrounded by the love of his family at his bedside.
Born on February 24, 1942, in Cincinnati, OH, he was the son of Clay and Beatrice Bowling. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife of 63 years, Beulah “Jean” Bowling (Eldridge); their two daughters, Vicky and Debbie; and their family dogs, Sara and Buttons.
He is survived by his two sons, Scott (Lisa) and Brian (Teresa); his grandchildren: Curtis, Alisha, Nicole (Collin), BJ, Kyle, Brittney (Cliff) and Blaine; his great grandchildren: Joshua, Kyleigh, Gio, Hailey, Chloe, Karlah, Nova, Enzo and May; his two great-great-grandchildren: Aubrey and Torque; and his two sisters, Darlene Tartaglio and Norma Cook; and his brother George.
Vernon was a devoted husband and grandfather, a loving father to his kids, and was loved by so many family members and friends. He worked for many different places over the years – from a security guard at Kentucky Speedway, to an over-the-road truck driver, to a driver for Piles Chevrolet. He ultimately retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. He also took Karate classes and had two businesses - BJB Fencing and a security company. Over the years, he took many road trips across the country with his wife. He loved cruising the open road on his motorcycle and taking yearly motorcycle trips with his sons and grandson Curtis. He and Jean also enjoyed many family adventure trips with their grandchildren to Cave Run, Cumberland, Orlando Studio, as well as outings on their pontoon boat.
Vernon has been a pillar of strength and a fierce protector. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025 from 10am-12noon at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home at 500 N. Main Street, Williamstown, KY 41097. Funeral will also be Friday at 12 noon. Pastor Wayne Oaks, Jr. will be officiating services. Procession and burial will follow at the Spring Grove Cemetery, 4521 Spring Grove Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45232. Memorials are suggested to the Bethany Baptist Church.
