Viola Mullins Hodge Weidner

Viola Mullins Hodge Weidner, 89, a Florence resident, formerly of Verona, KY, entered into the presence of her Heavenly Father on Monday May 26, 2026. Born on January 16, 1937 in the Rock Lick Community of Breathitt County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Porter and Hilda Wilson Mullins.

On October 12, 1959, Viola was united in marriage to Thomas Reed Hodge; he preceded her in death on August 27, 1996. On May 30, 2001 she was married to William “Bill” Henry Weidner; he preceded her in marriage on July 1, 2018. For many years she served as a Customer Service agent with Walmart, Inc. She will long be remembered for her love for traveling, playing Bridge and having a genuine appreciation for Bluegrass music. She was a member of Boone Co. Homemakers and New Bethel Baptist Church.

Viola leaves to carry on her legacy, two sons: Randall Dale Hodge of Verona and Ricky Glen Hodge of Dry Ridge; one brother: Mike Mullins of Warsaw; one granddaughter, Trish Hodge King and two great-grandchildren: Zackariah and Dale. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Steven Ray Mullins, Curtis Mullins and a sister, Mildred “Sue” Chapman.

Visitation will be Sunday May 31, 2026 from 10:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. at Hamilton – Stanley Funeral Home in Verona. Funeral services will begin at 12:45. She will be laid to rest next to her late husband, Thomas Hodge, in New Bethel Cemetery – Verona.
