Verona

Willard "Payton" Parker, II, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away on August 17, 2025, at his residence in Verona, Kentucky at the age of 55. He was born on June 6, 1970, in Covington, Kentucky, and had a life that touched many hearts with his kindness and vibrant spirit.

Payton dedicated his career to being a truck driver for Sun Belt Rentals, a role that allowed him to embrace the open road while providing for his family. He was a proud graduate of Walton-Verona High School where he developed a passion for sports, playing both baseball and football during his time there. His love for competition continued throughout his life.

Outside of work and school, Payton enjoyed a variety of hobbies that brought him joy. He was an avid farmer, enthusiastic fisherman, and devoted hunter, finding peace in the great outdoors. He also took pride in his vegetable gardening and was a passionate fan of the Cincinnati Bengals. Payton loved to support his children at their sports events, always cheering them on from the sidelines. Known as a great cook, he especially delighted in using his smoker to create delicious meals. One of his simpler pleasures in life was watching old westerns, a pastime that provided comfort and enjoyment.

Payton’s love for his family extended to his wife, Megan Dempsey Parker, whom he held dear throughout their life together. He is also survived by his mother, Jeanette Simpson Parker, his son, Willard "Tip" Parker, III, his stepson, Denver Carroll, his daughter, December Hurst, and two stepdaughters, Morgan (Wyatt) Caldwell and Ireland Wilson. Payton's legacy will continue through his three grandchildren, Carrigan, Zoey, and Brooks, who brought immense joy to his life. He also leaves behind two sisters, Sherry Jones and April Conrad, as well as several nieces and nephews who admired him greatly.  Payton cherished his two dogs, Copper and Sadie, who brought companionship to his days.

Payton was predeceased by his father, Willard "Sonny" Parker, and two brothers, Michael Parker and Marshall Parker. The shared memories of Payton will forever hold a special place in the hearts of his family and friends, and his spirit will live on in the lives of those he touched.
