Mrs. Mary Ann Cook, of Williamstown, KY. passed away Thursday, October 29 in the hospice unit of St. Elizabeth Grant County at the age of 68. Mrs. Cook was born March 16, 1947 in Covington, KY. to the late Lawrence and Luvenia Ballenger O'Hara. Mrs. Cook was a retired teacher with 42 years of service. She taught for most of her career in the Grant County School System and for a while in Florida. Mrs. Cook was a member of the St. William Catholic Church in Williamtown, KY. where she was active with volunteer work and the St. Vincent DePaul Society. Her service to others also included volunteer work with the Helping Hands organization. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and she loved reading, sewing and is fondly remembered by her family for her love of cooking and collecting cook books and trying new recipes. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by a brother: Bobby O'Hara. Mrs. Cook leaves to mourn her passing a son: Ryan O. Cook of Corinth, KY., a daughter: Laura Scroggins and her husband Fred of Dry Ridge, KY., a sister: Betty Jo O'Hara of Jacksonville, FL., a brother: Eddie O'Hara of Hayes, LA. She was also blessed with 2 grandchildren: Samuel Scroggins and Eli Scroggins. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Monday, November 2 at St. William Catholic Church with Rev. Damien Hils officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, November 1 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm in the chapel of the McDaniel Funeral Home, Corinth. Burial will be in the Williamstown Cemetery. Memorial contributions if desired may be directed to St. William Catholic Church or St. Elizabeth Hospice.
